City Speeds Up Construction Approvals

On October 12th WNYC reported that "The new process seems simple enough: allow city officials and real estate developers to review blueprints for new projects in a virtual conference room, online, rather than in person.  The city claims this simple step of going digital will drastically reduce the time it takes for construction projects to be approved".

Yarmus Engineering, P.C. has long embraced the use of such technology to facilitate and expedite its work, allowing its clientele and team members to be included in the progress of work regardless of location and unexpected obstacles (i.e. - weather emergencies, out-of-state clients, vacation schedules, after-hours work, etc.).  Online CAD viewers (which can be accessed from both computers and "smartphones" alike without the need for software installation), the ability for clients to upload/download files directly to/from our servers, remote access to our office network, etc. are just a few examples of the technology employed by our firm.  Please contact our office if we can be of assistance to you or your clients

Will Big Ben be the next Leaning Tower of Pisa?

On October 10th The The New Zealand Herald reported "Whether the British parliament is leaning to the left or right depends on your point of view but Big Ben is officially tilting.  And surveyors say it is getting worse.  A new report has found the top of the famous clock tower, which stands above the parliament in central London, is now just under half a metre off the perpendicular".

Yarmus Engineering, P.C. is available to provide consulting, inspection, and construction management services to assist in minimizing the likelihood of construction/demolition activities affecting neighboring properties, documenting existing conditions prior to and after such activities, and reviewing site conditions caused/alleged to have been caused by such activities.  Please contact our office if we can be of assistance to you or your clients.

What's New

The NYC Development Hub is a newly opened plan review center which will reportedly accelerate the construction approval process and speed up job creation.  This milestone is reported to make New York one of the first cities in the country to receive, review, and approve digital construction plans.
