Why presidential candidates need to look at U.S. infrastructure

On July 6th Forbes.com reported that “the American Society of Civil Engineers gives the U.S. physical infrastructure a D+ in its Report Card, and reports the country will need to invest $3.6 trillion in improvements by 2020. Should the country’s infrastructure continue to deteriorate, businesses and consumers alike will foot the bill for expensive logistics and operations. In this commentary, Paul Laudicina, author and businessman, suggests that all presidential candidates answer these questions: “What is our vision for the future? How are we setting a course for a better tomorrow, the way the nation’s founders did? What is the strategic narrative around which all Americans can rally as one nation?”.

Tappan Zee Bridge Project Starting To Take Shape

On July 3rd CBSNewYork.com reported that “the multi-billion dollar Tappan Zee Bridge project is rising up in the Hudson River. ‘I have to say, driving over today to see the supports, actual supports, I said to myself ‘it’s actually happening!” Mayor of White Plains Tom Roach told CBS2’s Lou Young. Roach marveled along with just about everyone else that the $3.9 billion bridge is actually beginning to take shape, rising up on a thousand piles driven down into the river bedrock”.
