With a Steel Column, a Tower Will Reclaim the Manhattan Sky
On April 29th, The New York Times reported “that unless the winds (were) too strong (that) 1 World Trade Center will be the tallest building in New York City. The tower will make the structure 21 feet higher than the Empire State Building”. A time-lapse video showing the progress of construction over the last eight years was posted on CNN.com.
Yarmus Engineering, P.C. takes great pride in the resolve, commitment, and ingenuity displayed by all those associated with the rebuilding the World Trade Center site, and we look forward to the completion of construction in the coming year.
Modular construction could boost efficiency of construction projects
On April 30th The Hartford Business Journal reported that “modular construction is being promoted…as a speedier, effective, more cost efficient and sustainable way of building than traditional methods. Assembling building components offsite enables firms to supervise the work environment and the use of materials and equipment more easily…”.
